About Matthew
Prior to qualifying as an IFS practitioner, Matthew completed foundational counselling training which began in 2014 when he completed a Level 1 counselling intro certificate, followed by Level 2 and Level 3 counselling skills and counselling theory qualifications with the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB).
His IFS training took place in 2023 through IFS UK, an international partner of the IFS Institute in America, who deliver training courses developed and taught by Richard Schwartz and other lead trainers from his team.
While Matthew's IFS training prepared him to work with adult individuals, he also has significant prior experience facilitating a variety of support groups.

Having originally trained as a dancer, singer and actor, and later a Pilates practitioner, Matthew brings a naturally creative and somatic edge to his work with clients.
His own journey has included many years of personal therapy, which certainly led to many very positive changes in life. However, it wasn’t until encountering IFS that he began to heal more deeply from his own experiences of trauma.

For Matthew, the IFS movement offers a hopeful and compassionate paradigm, central to how he and his family lead their lives.
